Our Technology
We work to incorporate the latest technology in our hospital in as many ways as possible. It often seems that technology costs, but in this case, the new innovations decrease costs and increase the quality of care for our patients and their owners.
Technology in Our Hospital
Digital radiology is common place in human medicine but is just gaining ground in veterinary medicine mainly due to the initial cost. However, over time and especially in a large hospital, the savings in film and developing costs as well as the drastic increase in quality quickly make up for it.
We have had laser surgery and ultrasound equipment for years, but now it is available to all of our patients every day instead of being shared between our hospitals. Our surgery suites have HEPA-filtered air and positive pressure ventilation to help avoid any contamination during surgery. Our isolation wards have separate ventilation systems with negative pressure ventilation to avoid any escape of infectious disease to any other pets under our care. We have a special procedures room in part for future chemotherapy treatments as this becomes a more common service we provide to our patients. Even our phone and computer systems will help us take better and more efficient care of the patients and their owners.
Much of these technologies often are behind the scenes but they help in many ways to improve outcomes of the surgeries and procedures we do.
